5 State animation with DUIK

Post by BrianDreamer » Fri Jan 31, 2020 11:38 pm

Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum so any help given will be greatly appreciated. I have been using DUIK for a few years now and I've been able to do some cool head and body rigging with it. Great tool, however I can only move the body on one axis only, as in if I create keyframes in shape paths for a 3 quarter right 3 quarter left and 3 quarter center I can't create up and down keys for the animation. It doesn't work like Joysticks and Sliders to accomplish 5 State animation. Am I wrong in this assumption? Can you create 5 state animation with DUIK? Is that a function being worked on for later versions of the script?

Thank you

You can use the "list" on any property to make multiple connections (and thus something different for the vertical and horizontal axis, and even more controllers): https://duik-docs.rainboxlab.org/duik-list.html

Note that the list won't work on Bézier paths, but you can use bones to control Bézier paths and then rig the bones as any other layer.
